On Sunday, September 28th, about 50 folks from Crawford County, PA and the surrounding area spent the afternoon hauling water with tankers as part of our 16-hr Rural Water Supply Operations Seminar that was sponsored by the Crawford County Fireman's Association and hosted by the West Mead #2 VFD in West Mead Township. Three engines, eleven tankers and one fill site was used to support the 2-hour tanker shuttle where a peak flow of 1250 gpm was attained during the latter part of the event. Participants spent all day Saturday and Sunday morning reviewing the best practices of hauling water with tankers and then set out Sunday afternoon to put their learning to the test. Everyone did a great job working together to try and keep the water flowing at the attack engine! Many thanks to the host department and to all the folks who helped organize the weekend. The logistical support was awesome! Instructors for the weekend were Mark Davis and Alan Butsch.
