The second week of September was a busy one for us as we installed five, bridge mount dry fire hydrants in the State of Vermont. Each installation was custom designed using either the GBW Angle Mount or the GBW Saddle Mount system, and all were funded in part by the State's grant program. The installation in Huntington proved challenging, as a communications line had to be relocated in order for our system to fit. This move was accomplished through the cooperative effort of the local utility, the Town of Huntington, and the Huntington VFD - great work! The flow test produced just over 750 gpm at 17-feet of lift and using the front intake on a 1250 gpm pumper. The installation replaced a fixed-pipe installation that had been damaged by floodwaters. Many thanks to all involved for the great logistical support.
Plenty of flow available at this location even during the severe drought.
The new installation replaced this old, fixed-pipe installation that was damaged by floodwaters.
The old suction head.
Another one of our angle-mount designs.
One of five DFHs installed during our September trip in Vermont. The installation was outfitted with our Jericho Ice Breaker pin.
