Brierfield Trains With New Tanker and Jumbo Siamese

After just receiving our new tanker with a 1000 rpm pump we trained on nursing operations. This is something new for us since our only other tanker is a water hauler only and requires a dump tank and supply pumper. We added jumbo clappered siamese to 3 of our engines. The purpose of the drill was to utilize several simulations. Our first in attack engine (E201) laid a 5" LDH line with the jumbo siamese at the intersection then proceeded 1000' to the scene. Once on scene a rapid attack monitor was deployed and a flow of 250 rpm was established. (Engine carries 1000 gal of water) The second in engine (E202) caught the hydrant (500 gpm flow) at the base of the hill and relay pumped thru the jumbo siamese to E201. We then simulated loss of water from E202's hydrant and had the new tanker (T206) come in and immediately pump to the other side of the jumbo siamese (T206 carries 2500 gal of water). To establish a permanent water supply we hand our third engine (E203) reverse lay from T206 to a lake 600' away and establish a draft from the lake then relay pump to T206 then T206 to E201. Since the lakes water level was very low we used 60' of 6" flexible intake hose and a Kockek floating strainer.
E201 never lost water and once the relay was complete we were able to increase flow to 500 rpm. I was very proud of the job my boys did. They caught on very quickly. No one got hurt and they got plenty of exercise picking up 1700' of 5"
