Congratulations to Chief Don Hutchison and the men and women of the Cardinal Joint Fire District in Mahoning County, Ohio, for improving their ISO rating in their non-hydranted response areas. After a bunch of hard work on improving the delivery of fire protection water in their rural areas - including the installation of eleven dry fire hydrants - the Fire District saw its ISO rating improve from a 4/9 to a 4/6 - which is EXCELLENT! Let the work of Chief Hutchison and his personnel set an example for others in rural America to follow - lower ISO ratings CAN BE accomplished in the non-hydranted areas.
