Got Big Water is the official website of GBW Associates, LLC, a privately-owned training and consulting firm located in Westminster, Maryland. The executives at GBW Associates, LLC have over 90 years of combined fire service experience ranging from rural to municipal to industrial operations. They have delivered training programs in over 40 different states, been involved in community master planning and water supply assessment. They have designed fire service pumpers and tankers, have served on NFPA committees, and have held various chief officer ranks in career, volunteer, and industrial emergency response agencies.

The founder and president of GBW Associates, LLC is Mark E. Davis – a fire service professional for more than 24 years. Mark has a bachelors degree in education/fire science and masters degree in public administration; both from the University of Maryland. He is a certified Fire Officer III, Certified Fire Protection Specialist (CFPS), FADO, Instructor III, and Instructor Trainer. Mark has a wide range of experience in the municipal, rural, and industrial response settings. He has held all fire service ranks up to and including battalion chief.

Greg Dods serves as the Vice President of Technical Services. With more than 26 years of fire service experience, Greg oversees the design, installation, and maintenance of dry hydrant systems as well as assists in the technical review of other operational areas. Greg is a certified Fire Officer III, Certified Fire Protection Specialist (CFPS) FADO, and Instructor III and has held all fire service ranks up to and including fire chief.

Larry Davis serves as the Vice President of Product Services. Larry oversees the development of new services and products as well as assists in the delivery of training programs. Larry has more than 35 years in the fire service and has worked in many different emergency services arenas. A noted author and speaker, Larry is also a fire protection engineer and certified fire protection specialist and served as a Staff Division Chief with a large, industrial response department.

Got Big Water’s pricing policy is consistent with current business trends. We believe in the old saying that “you get what you pay for” and that is why we make service and quality top priorities in our firm. We pride ourselves in tailoring each project to the customer’s needs.

Most of our consulting and technical services work is bid on a “total hours and materials per project” basis. Additional fees may be added if professional engineering services are required for the project – however, all costs are identified up front with no “fine print”.

Our training service fees are generally based upon course length, content, and the number of students. Most clients select from the courses listed in our brochure, however, we are always available to develop or revise a program based upon client needs.
