On Sunday afternoon September 24th, folks from the Atkinson FD and several surrounding towns worked together to operate a 2-hr tanker shuttle as part of the 16-hr Rural Water Supply Operations Seminar that was sponsored and hosted by the Atkinson FD. The crews used three engines and seven tankers to support the operation where water flow peaked at 1,000 gpm. Two fill sites were used; each one a pond. Operations were initiated using a "rural hitch" (siamese) until such time that a dump tank operation could be set-up. Eventually, three dump tanks and four jet siphons were used to supply water for the simulated fire attack. Many thanks to the Atkinson FD for the excellent hospitality and logistical support. Instructors for the weekend were Mark Davis and Alan Butsch.
