During our 2018 seminar in Oconee County, South Carolina we came across a nice looking and functional 3,000-gallon tanker operated by the Crossroads VFD. A quick look at the back of the tanker shows the rig is ready to go to work. The tanker is equipped with a 1,000 gpm pump and carries a 3,000 gpm dump tank. Twin, 2-1/2-inch pre-connected hose lines equipped with cam lock fittings are used as the fill lines for tanker loading. With the cam lock fitting standardized throughout the area, fill site operations are made much easier and thus get the tanker loaded and back enroute to the fire scene much quicker.
