Our Executive Leadership

The executives at GBW Associates, LLC have over 60 years of combined fire service experience ranging from rural to municipal to industrial operations and they have delivered our training, consulting, and design services in over 40 different states. GBW executives have designed fire service pumpers and tankers, served on regional and local water supply task forces/committees, trained a couple thousand students, and have held various chief officer ranks in both career and volunteer emergency response agencies.

Mark E. Davis is the founder and president of GBW Associates, LLC and a fire service professional for more than 30 years. Mark has a bachelors degree in education/fire science and masters degree in public administration; both from the University of Maryland. He is a Certified Fire Protection Specialist (CFPS), FADO, Instructor III, and Instructor Trainer. Mark has a wide range of experience in the municipal, rural, and industrial response settings. Greg Dods serves as the Vice President of Technical Services. With more than 30 years of fire service experience, Greg oversees the design, installation, and maintenance of dry hydrant systems as well as assists in the technical review of other operational areas. Greg is a certified Fire Officer III, Certified Fire Protection Specialist (CFPS) FADO, and Instructor III and has held all fire service ranks up to and including fire chief. He has served on regional water supply workgroups and has been instrumental in successfully passing legislation regarding residential sprinklers and fire protection water supplies for rural communities.  Greg can be contacted at GDods@gotbigwater.com.

Our Associates

Based upon the type of project and its content, our associates range from Certified Fire Protection Specialists, to chief officers, to emergency services instructors, to driver/operators, to just plain fire fighters.  All of our associates are experienced emergency services folks who are committed to excellence in what they do as well as committed to helping others better themselves and their operations.  Our associates come from diverse backgrounds and stand ready to bring their expertise to each new project.
