In our last News Story we spoke about one of our bridge-mount dry fire hydrant systems that had a component failure; that system on Newport Road in Woodbine, MD was installed in 2006 and served for 19 years. The design of that system was our original design and used lighter gauge steel components. Since then, all of our designs for the last 15 years have used heavier duty, hot-rolled steel for the brackets. We expect these installations to last much longer as long as the owner follows our inspection and maintenance guidelines.

In October 2025, we removed the Newport Road system and installed a brand new system. A flow test produced just over 1200 gpm using a 1500 gpm pumper. The replacement system was funded by Carroll County Government as part of their county-wide, rural water supply program for fire protection.
