On Sunday afternoon, October 5th, 30+ folks from Franklin County, Kansas and the surrounding area got together to haul water with tankers for two hours as the conclusion of our 2-day Rural Water Supply Operations Seminar. The drill was held just south of the City of Ottawa and was supported by two fill sites - a nearby quarry and a nearby fire hydrant. The operation used a rural hitch for the first 40-minutes of the drill and supplied 500 gpm to the attack engine. Eventually, a 2-dump tank operation was used to support the 500 gpm flow. A variety of tankers were used to haul water - including a repurposed HEMTT refueler used as a water hauler now by Ohio Township FD. Many thanks to the Franklin County Firefighters Association for sponsoring, and the L.O.H. Fire District for hosting the 2-day seminar. This was our second time delivering our program in Franklin County and it was just as enjoyable as the first! Instructors for the weekend were Mark Davis and Tim Legore.
