Congratulations to the Red Rock Volunteer Fire Company of New York on their recent acquisition of a water supply rig from the Austerlitz Fire District (NY). We are fortunate to have worked with both organizations over the years; from the Larry Davis era with Red Rock to some dry fire hydrant installations in Austerlitz (2011). Red Rock VFC's new water supply rig is 2000 Boise Mobile Equipment 750 gpm pumper built on a Ford F450 chassis. The 750 gpm pump was designed with 6" intakes and a 5" LDH discharge and can flow 1100 gpm at draft using a single, 6-inch suction line. Currently, the unit carries 1500 ft of 5” LDH, 64-feet of large suction hose and 40-feet of 3-inch suction hose - which can be used on the pump's auxiliary intake or on the portable fire pump. The rig got plenty of use at Austerlitz and now is being used as a source pumper to load tankers with Red Rock. Nice to see the unit still putting in the work.
