While most of our water supply training work involves the use of large capacity water haulers and fire pumps, we occasionally come across other unique vehicles that make you take a pause to look. We might not use it in our seminar but certainly the local fire department uses it for special applications. During our recent seminar in Levelland, Texas we came across a Kubota UTV equipped with a small, CAFS system. Nothing fancy, but given the amount of grassland fires to which the Levelland FD folks respond, the UTV set-up with a small, CAFS looked pretty interesting. The system was built by 1st Fire Safety out of Cedar Park, Texas and uses an SCBA cylinder for the foam making air supply.
