On April 5th and 6th we delivered our 16-hr Rural Water Supply Operations Seminar for Wakulla County (Florida) Fire Rescue. This was our first training program delivered in Florida making it our 41st State! The folks spent the two days reviewing the best practices of hauling water with tankers and the how best to utilize their own apparatus given their staffing and response policies. The seminar culminated with a 2-hr water supply drill where the group tried to develop and sustain a targeted flow rate. In the end, a peak flow of 1250 gpm was achieved using three dump tanks and two fill sites. Many thanks to Wakulla County Fire Rescue for excellent logistical support and attendance. Instructors for the program were Mark Davis and Tim Legore.
