Nothing fancy here....just a couple of photo examples of the importance of keeping your fire pump's suction inlet screen in good condition. The inlet screen is the last line of defense for your fire pump....so, it needs to be inspected on a regular basis. In some cases, the inlet screen also provides cathodic protection. All inlet screens also work to turn the turbulent incoming flow into more laminar flow before water hits the impeller. Removing and inspecting the suction inlet screen should be part of annual pump service. |
