Last weekend we had the fortunate opportunity to travel to High River, Alberta to deliver our 16-hr Rural Water Supply Operations Seminar for the High River and Foothills Fire Departments. More than 50 folks from around the High River area and British Columbia area attended the program. The weekend was spent reviewing the best practices of hauling water with tenders. An unexpected late spring snow storm brought bad weather for Sunday morning...so all practical activities that day were shifted some and an "official" 2-hr drill was not held. We were able to get out on the roads after lunch and haul some water, just not in the official 2-hr model. A peak flow of 3200 lpm was attained using a 3-dump tank arrangement. Many thanks to both fire departments for providing excellent logistical support and a true Springtime Canadian experience. instructors for the weekend were Mark Davis and Alan Butsch.
