This past weekend we had the pleasure of working with Chief Paul Vandervalk and the fire brigade at Jolly Farmer Products in Northampton, New Brunswick. The brigade provides fire protection services to a very large greenhouse (10.5 acres) and agricultural complex in rural New Brunswick, Canada. They operate a pumper and a 2,000-gallon tanker on the complex and rely on mutual aid help for large scale events.

The 2-hr water supply drill on October 18th was the culmination of our 16-hr Rural Water Supply Operations Seminar that was sponsored and hosted by the folks at Jolly Farmer. Participants in the drill were from the fire brigade and numerous fire departments in the mutual aid area. The crews were able to sustain a 1,000 gpm flow for the final 30-minutes of the drill using two fill sites.

Many thanks to everyone who worked hard through the cold temps and snow showers to make this drill a success. Many thanks to Chad Christensen of Fol-Da-Tank Company for raffling off a 2,500-gallon dump tank! In addition, our t-shirt and hat raffle proceeds were donated to the Canadian Fallen Firefighters Foundation.

Instructors for the seminar were Mark Davis and Tim Legore. A full summary of the drill will be posted in a few weeks.
