The folks in Prospect, Maine got a chance to haul some water this past weekend as part of our 16-hr Rural Water Supply Operations Seminar. The seminar was sponsored and hosted by the Prospect FD. Waldo County EMA provided logistical support to the program and also got a chance to assist with the 2-hr water supply drill. As usual, the weekend began with a morning classroom session on Saturday to review the basics and best practices of hauling water with tankers. The remainder of the weekend was dedicated to practical skill activities. The weekend culminated with the 2-hour water supply drill where participants used tankers and two fill sites to haul water by tanker to support an uninterrupted flow at the dump site.

Crews did a nice job of hauling water and they were able to reach a peak flow of about 1,100 gpm. In addition, the seminar's t-shirt and hat raffle generated enough funding for our 47th brick in the NFFF Walk-of-Honor Memorial at the National Fire Academy!!! Instructors for the weekend were Mark Davis and Shane Darwick. A complete summary will be posted in a week or so.
