More than 80 participants worked through 100-degree heat to haul water for 2-hours this past weekend in Kendall County, Texas. The 2-hour water supply drill was the culmination of our 16-hr Rural Water Supply Operations Seminar hosted by the Kendall County Fire Chiefs and the City of Boerne Fire Department. Participants from Kendall County and several surrounding counties spent the two days perfecting their water hauling skills. Saturday morning was spent in a classroom setting reviewing the basics of hauling water in non-hydranted areas. Then it was "off into the heat" Saturday afternoon to review the finer points of setting up successful dump site and fill site operations.

Sunday morning had more practical work on dump sites and fill sites; the day concluded with the water supply drill where folks worked to haul water via tenders to support an uninterrupted flow.

We are very pleased to report that the seminar t-shirt and hat raffle funded a 45th brick in the National Fallen Firefighters Memorial - Walk-of-Honor at the National Fire Academy in Emmitsburg, MD!

Instructors for the program were Mark Davis and Alan Butsch. A complete summary will be posted in a couple of weeks.
