Dump Site Operations #3 - Numbered Tanks

During our June rural water supply seminar in Bastrop, Texas, we had a chance to see a very nice dump tank numbering system used to aid in choreographing the offloading of water at a 4-tank dump site operation. The folks from North Hays County had roll-up vinyl signs that displayed large numbers. These signs were carried on their tender and were deployed at the dump site once they arrived to offload their water. The signs proved very useful in directing tenders as they arrived at the dump site.

The signs were made by a local sign shop and the roll-up feature made the signs easy for storage on the tender when not being used. The roll-up signs were held in place on the dump tanks using several small elastic type cords.

Once again - a good example of "local" creativity nicely done!
