Swiveling Dump Chute Meets NFPA Requirement

The most recent edition of NFPA 1901 requires that a mobile water supply apparatus (tanker or tender) must be able to offload (dump) from the left, right, and rear of the vehicle at a rate of at least 1,000 gpm. The A.H. Stock Company's swiveling dump chute meets that requirement. The Stock Co is best known for their Newton Kwik Dump - a mainstay in the tanker business for many years. The swiveling dump chute has been available for a number of years now - we just haven't been able to catch one in operation.

During our seminar in Ottawa, Kansas, we found the Newton 6000SW dump chute on L.O.H Fire District's Tender 3661 and thought we would share some photos of the chute in operation. The chute can offload at rates approaching 2,000 gpm on larger tankers - very impressive.
