By President Mark Davis
November 15, 2018

On November 11, 2018, Chief Tim Smith and the folks from West Carlisle FD and surrounding areas worked to refine their water hauling skills during a 2-hour water supply drill at the Reese Technology Center. The drill was the culmination of our 16-hr Rural Water Supply Operations Seminar that was sponsored and hosted by the West Carlise FD. The program started on Saturday with a morning classroom session that reviewed the basics of hauling water with tankers. Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning were spent doing practical activities involving dump site and fill site operations. Sunday afternoon the folks got to "put it all together" and try to haul water uninterrupted for 2-hours - which they did.

Eight tankers and two engines were used to support the drill and folks were able to reach a peak flow of 1,000 gpm! Many thanks to the West Carlise FD and the Frenship ISD for providing excellent logistical support, A full summary will be posted in a couple of weeks. Instructors for the weekend seminar were Mark davis and Mark Wobus.

Units: West Carlisle Engine 1, West Carlisle Tanker 1, West Carlisle Tanker 2, West Carlisle Tanker 3, Levelland Tanker 9, Shallowater Engine 1, Idalou Tanker 1, New Deal Tanker 4, Woodrow Tanker 1, and Ransom Canyon Tanker1.
